As you've probably guessed, I was not born with the name Professor Longhair. As a matter of fact - I'm not even a real professor. For over ten years, though, I have been "working my magic" as Professor Longhair - magician, puppeteer and balloon sculptor.

My name is Randy Thompson and I'm a counselor at a county health department in southern Illinois. I use the professional skills I have developed over the years to work with my audience. My goal at every show and event is to ensure everyone enjoys themselves and has a great time.

My experience as a performer includes years of experience designing and performing entertainment for those with special needs. My performances entertain children and adults with mental and/or physical disabilities by addressing their needs during the show and meeting their level of understanding and emotional needs and issues.

I have a 15 year old daughter and an 18 year old son. My daughter helps me with the shows and brags to friends that she has been to over 300 birthday parties!

Working with a tight budget? Tight timeframe? Other challenges? Not a problem - I can pull rabbits out of hats! I have a very fair fee schedule, and I can help you design a show or program to meet your budget - and thrill your audience.

I offer a range of entertainment options including magic, balloon twisting, face painting and puppetry. I can customize my performance to match a specific theme (such as science or childhood safety) and audience (children, teens, adults, seniors, people with special needs). I can also create a custom program for your event - like Bible camps, after-school programs or senior entertainment.
